2025 Tuesday Hagiwara Senior Scholarship Award
Kara Abney is our third annual winner of the Tuesday Hagiwara Senior Scholarship Award. This scholarship was created to celebrate a Senior leader who exemplifies PGN’s spirit. The recipient is a member who has gone above and beyond to provide mentorship to new members, encourages existing members to stay involved, and has been instrumental in creating a stronger organization and chapter, making the future of PGN brighter.
About the Award
The Tuesday Hagiwara Senior Scholarship was founded in recognition of a former Executive Director who served the national organization from 2013 - 2020. Tuesday stepped into the role during a crucial time in PGN’s history, helping transition the organization into a new phase of leadership and growth. This scholarship celebrates her many years of dedication and commitment to ensuring PGN’s success and longevity.
The Grant Application period runs annually from April 1st to April 30th, with the recipient announced in May.
About Kara:
Meet Kara Abney, a fourth-year Operations Management student at The Ohio State University. As a member of the Honors Contract program and a Peer Impact Consultant through Fisher’s Undergraduate Leadership and Engagement Office, Kara has taken an active role in both her academic and professional development.
With a strong interest in consulting, Kara is drawn to the field's dynamic nature—where problem-solving, relationship-building, and cross-functional collaboration intersect. Her experiences with SCNO (Students Consulting for Nonprofit Organizations) and participation in multiple consulting case competitions have further fueled her passion for the industry and sharpened the skills she’ll carry into her future career.
Current role: Peer Impact Consultant at The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business
PGN role: Former Director of Corporate Relations, Director of Professionalism
