A Rapidly Growing Student Organization at the Farmer School of Business
Founded in 2020 with just six members, the Miami University of Ohio Chapter of PGN has quickly become one of the fastest-growing student organizations on campus. Rooted in the Farmer School of Business, PGN Miami has built a strong foundation of leadership, connection, and professional development for students pursuing careers in business.
The chapter’s alumni base has expanded by 20% each year, a testament to its lasting impact and growing network. In 2024, the chapter added two academic advisors to strengthen member outreach, enhance career readiness programs, and create more opportunities for internships and guest speakers.
Professional Growth and Career Success
Over just five years, PGN Miami has achieved a 5x growth rate and boasts a 100% job placement or continued education rate for its graduates. Alumni now work at leading companies such as JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, American Airlines, TJX, Honda, Cisco, RSM, JLL, Fifth Third Bank, and all of the Big Four accounting firms.
Each semester, the chapter hosts more than five Fortune 500 speakers and collaborates with over 15 corporate and alumni partners, offering Miami University students valuable access to professional insights, mentorship, and networking opportunities that prepare them for success after graduation.
Community Engagement and Philanthropy
Beyond professional development, PGN Miami takes pride in giving back to the Miami University and Oxford community. Members recently helped pack over 960 boxes for the Freestore Foodbank, organized a 9/11 Stair Climb that brought together more than 200 students to honor those who lost their lives, and hosted a Philanthropy Night supporting a local nature preservation and creating holiday cards for senior homes.
These efforts reflect PGN’s commitment to service, collaboration, and social responsibility, demonstrating that leadership extends beyond business—it starts with community impact.
Traditions that Build Connection and Belonging
PGN Miami’s culture thrives on connection and shared experiences. The chapter’s Big-Little mentorship program strengthens bonds between members each semester, while Bid Day celebrations welcome new initiates into the organization. Another chapter favorite is the group’s semesterly trip to Cincinnati Reds games, a fun tradition that reinforces the value of camaraderie outside the classroom.
Empowering Students to Lead Beyond the Classroom
From its beginnings as a small founding class to becoming a top professional organization at Miami University, PGN Miami continues to empower students to grow as leaders, professionals, and engaged community members. Through career development, mentorship, and service, the chapter exemplifies how a college student organization can create lasting impact both on campus and beyond.
